Pamukkale, Central Turkey.

Appearing as an enormous, chalky white cliff rising 330 feet from
the plains below, it is really a mineral rich, volcanic spring. Its
waters cascade over the natrual terraces, crystallizing into white
curtains of solidified water seemingly suspended in air.
From the days of the Roman emporers, these mineral rich
waters have long been held to have the "power to heal ailments."

This cliffside of white rock
looks itself like a frozen
glacier of ice.

Once surrounded by hotels
that greatly damaged
this natural wonder, the
government of Turkey
purchased all the hotels
and tore them down!

You get good scale here,
as humans are shown.

As once can see, it is
not ice and snow; indeed
the day was very hot,
probably in excess of 86
degress F (30 C)

A fence was raised to
prevent the likely death
that would occur for
someone that goes over
the edge. I say put up a
warning sign and don't
mess up our pictures
with a fence, but oh well.
