High School soccer in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Not sure
where the ball was, but I'm #5 going for a header. Either that,
or I had a severely disfunctional way of walking

Soccer has always been my favorite sport. I started playing when I was five years old. When I was 9, I was on the
"Blue Team," see the image at the bottom of page. I played 3 to 4 seasons a year until I graduated high school. When
I was a freshman in high school, with 9 minutes left in the last game of the season, I broke my ankle. Nothing too bad,
but it started a leak in my right ankle, a leak being calcium. The bone became a little imperfect (besides the fracture part),
and 'leaked' calcium down into my ankle joint, filling it up and solidifying it, as well as fusing my tibia to distal fibula
across the tendons. So, I had reconstructive on it 3½ years later (never missing a season of soccer before the surgery),
and it was much better. I missed only my spring season, then I was back at it. Then, in 1995, I managed to break off
another full piece of the bottom part of the tibia, so in a cast again. I remember driving to Ottawa and back from Boston with
a cast up to my knee, stopping in Syracuse for a job interview. Drove to work everyday, would throw the crutches in the
back of my truck and hope to not get caught by any police, but how else you gonna get to work (ya, like I had to drive to Ottawa,
Canada, and back!). Anyway, I didn't try out for the team at UMASS since it was so soon after my surgery, so I never ended
up playing in college (I think I would have made the team, but would have warmed the bench quite nicely).
I still played plenty, whenever I could. I haven't played too much in California, I've been
working so much. However, I also like to go hiking, camping and generally, to just explore with my camera.

I'm the little guy holding the ball, as opposed to the guy on my right who apparently ate a ball
