After
going Route 1 North out of Reykjavik for
about an hour (a costly mistake with such a
distance to Gulfoss, an impending blizzard and
only 5+ hours of light for the whole day!), I
ran across this beautiful scene of the unique
these Icelandic horses in the foreground of
an even more unique backdrop. |

My
loyal little Toyota corolla. This baby
served me well, studded winter tires,
5 speed manual transmission, she did well.
In Reykjavik, I filled the tank, and it cost
$33 US dollars! It is not cheap in a country
that must import everything... a McDonald's
Big Mac meal costs over $9 US! |

The
Icelandic Horse. They say when this
horse reaches a fast canter, the gait
smooths out to such a degree, one can
carry a tray of full wine glasses
without spilling a drop! |

The
Iceland roads, this is just about
20 minutes North of Reykjavik. Very
barren, very white, very interesting. |

This,
being Route 1, is the main
thoroughfare north of Reykjavik, as
can be seen by how clear this road is. |

I
skidded off the road here, so it
was a nice enough
reminder of the occasion. |
